Updates On The Children

In my last entry, I wrote about the Swedish children who fell out a window in their school, in my community, Järfälla, in Sweden. I am ever-so-slightly acquainted to these kids, I don't know them personally but it still feels so "close", when something like this happens to such young kids and so nearby. But for all people with children - Or just a nurturing mind, like me - It can feel almost like it's your own kid even if it happens miles away.

Filip Pieczka, 7 years old

Filip is at hospital being treated for a skull injury. He had a small bleeding in his brain, but he's gonna be fine. The boy doesn't remember anything of his accident at the moment. He longs home to his Playstation and says he wants to change schools and only study on the ground floor in the future.

Samira Hassan, 6 years old

Samira got the worst injuries of all three children. She's had surgery on several parts of her body, such as her hips, head and liver. She still has more treatment to go through, but she's gonna live. Last news I read about her is that she is still anesthetized, waiting for more surgery, but that she's shown signs of recovery by moving her legs a little.

Ayub Aden, 5 years old

This miracle boy was lucky enough to escape without any injury! He's still under observation in the hospital, but all seems well with him and he longs back to school, in spite of what happened.

Three Children Injured After Falling Out Window

There's been an accident here in Sweden, in the community I live, at a school in walking distance from the pre-school where I work. Monday, the 24th, as class was over at Aspnässkolan in Järfälla, three children, aged five, six and seven sat leaning against a window with a pillow behind. The windows suddenly sprung open and before anyone could intervene, they fell eight meters (twenty-six feet) and hit the hard asphalt ground.

Ardo Nur Ahmed, 35 was walking to school to get her six year old daughter, Samira, home. Their family fled to Sweden from Somalia earlier this year and all summer, Samira had been excited about starting school. Thursday, the 20th was her first day. When Ardo arrived at school Monday, to get her daughter, Samira wasn't waiting at the usual place. There was a gathering of people nearby, so Ardo rushed there and saw her daughter and two boys laying on the ground. The boys were screaming and crying but Samira appeared completely lifeless.

"I rushed up to her, feeling her heart and her pulse. She was gone. No sensation, no reaction, nothing. Can you understand? I thought she was dead." Samira's mother Ardo said, crying, to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet. "This just shouldn't be able to happen. Not at a school. Not in Sweden."

Samira is now treated for severe, but not life-threatening injuries at a hospital and the boys are treated for less severe injuries. As I live nearby and am very fond of children, I of course feel worried for these children and I hope that everything turns out fine. The families of the children must be going through such a nightmare, at the same time as they are happy the children are alive.

Signe Robertson's Random Piece Of Advice Number Five

Embrace your childish side: If you suddenly feel like buying My Little Ponies or children's movies, that doesn't mean you are immature, sometimes you just need to tend to the childlike part of who you are, it's a part of you always, even though some might have a more dominant childlike side than others. Sometimes, it's temporary also, sometimes you need to play with dolls and dress childishly for a few days and then you don't need it for a few months. Just don't be scared of your youthful side, whether it's dominant or subtle, constant or just shows once in a while! Also, pets are great to have, but make sure to not buy more pets than you can handle. The initial price, when buying an animal, is usually the least problem, as you only pay for that once, but the taking care of the animal, feeding, playing, cleaning cages, changing water bowls and so on, requires TIME, ENERGY and MONEY and this isn't just a one time thing, but for all the animal's life or until you sell it further, if you choose to do that, but I'd say, if you don't intend to keep the pet, don't buy it, it might be hard to resell and you never know what kind of people are going to buy your pet. Another important thing: If somebody - or something - is really important and precious to you, hold on to them.

Signe Robertson's Random Piece Of Advice Number Four

As clothes will make you very happy, make sure to buy lots of clothes, make lots of clothes, ask where that box of grandma's old, pretty dresses was really put and so on. Also, horses are awesome, you should totally get one.

My Newest Purchases

I know I should be sleeping, but I can't sleep, so I thought I was gonna tell you about the latest shopping spree I had, which was yesterday! (or today if you see it that way)

I bought a present for Olga, but it's a secret for now

And for me I bought:
Two pairs of white knee socks with lace and bows, from Phaze
A pair of black velvet Mary Janes (girly shoes) from Demonia
A pair of bloody meat axe earrings
A pair of strawberry cupcake earrings
(Note: I've never used a meat axe and I have never eaten a cupcake, the earrings are more like symbols, like "dark" and "sweet")
A white cotton top, which was probably sewn by a teenage girl named Siri in the 1920's (the name Siri is embroided on it and the size seems to be for a teen or a very thin young woman, as myself)
A white petticoat (Vintage, but I forgot to ask the decade)
A white vintage apron

Also, I would like to say... I know I should have written this in my blog long ago, but it just feels like such a sad subject... One of my cats died in June. I miss her so much. She had kidney failure. It was one of my oldest cats (Yuffie), she was eleven years old.
